Eco Rewards for Green Travel Choices is a compelling incentive scheme which encourages people to switch from using the car and rewards them for regularly and continually using active means of travel, including cycling, walking, car-sharing and public transport. The Bracknell scheme has been funded by Thames Valley Smart City Cluster and Bracknell Forest Council. It is planned to extend the scheme to other areas of the UK.

Employees, students and residents making regular journeys can register for Eco Rewards and tap a tag on a blue reader or report online every trip or ticket purchased in their scheme area. Cycling and walk to work/school schemes are included and are rewarded where participation can be recorded and verified.

Participating members of Eco Rewards can take advantage of free offers, discounted products and cashback financial rewards from over 2000 online retailers. Any cashback can be collected by the individual or donated to a local charity or community organisation to help them raise funds. In addition, for members there are regular competitions and chances to win prize draws of gift cards or tokens. There is no cost to the scheme operator or service providers for the value of the rewards earnt. Eco Rewards provide an additional incentive for people to use alternative modes of transport which is not treated as remuneration and is funded by the 2000+ Eco Rewards retailers.

Walk to work/school and cycle schemes will require recording and reporting each journey claimed which will be organised with participating employers and schools. There are manual and automated methods which will be used to track participation.

Where is the money coming from?

The money comes from the retailers advertising budget. Online retailers spend billions of pounds a year on advertising. They pay referral fees to websites who refer customers to them.

Most websites keep the commission to themselves. We pay a significant proportion back to you. The balance of the commission is used to develop and run the reward scheme.

Who can sign-up?

Any resident in the UK, invited to join an Eco Rewards scheme can sign-up. Only one account per person is allowed and only the account holder (or parent/guardian of pupils) is allowed to use their account.

Will I pay more for using your site?

No, the retailers will not charge you anything extra because you use our links. The price you pay for whatever you buy will be the same, whether you use our links to visit the shop or go to the retailer directly.

Will it cost me anything?

Signing-up to Eco Rewards is free for members. We will never bill you or take money out of your bank account.

When will I get paid?

We send out payments monthly, directly into your bank account.

Are there any minimum or maximum payment limits?

There are no minimum or maximum payment limits. You can earn as much or as little as you like.

Can I earn money by referring friends or family?

Yes. In the future we plan to offer a referral fee for every person you refer to Eco Rewards.

How do I refer friends when available as part of the scheme?

When you are invited and this, simply go to the 'Refer a Friend' link in Eco Rewards account and follow the easy instructions.

How do I donate?

You can choose to donate a proportion or all of your earnings to the charity or cause of your choice. You can choose who you want to donate to and how much through your profile page.

Do I have to make donations?

No, it is totally up to you what you do with your earnings, whether you donate a proportion of your cashback earnings or keep it to yourself.

How will the donations be paid?

We take care of sending payments to charities or causes you choose.

Can I change my Charity?

Yes of course, you can donate to the charity of your choice. Simply update in your profile the charity you would like to donate to. Every time you request a payment, you will be given the option of choosing your cause, how much to donate etc.
